The Medaka, Oryzias latipes, and the Guppy, Lebistes reticularis

  • Chapter
Handbook of Genetics

Abstract

By virtue of its small size, hardiness, rapid rate of reproduction, and ease of rearing the medaka (Oryzias latipes) is excellent experimental material for studies in various fields of biology, especially embryology and genetics.
