Understanding Psychological Assessment

Abstract

Measurement typically involves the assignment of numerical values to objects or event. The attributes of persons that are generally assessed include, but are not limited to, career interests, intelligence, memory, and personality. A test may be designed to measure maximum performance as with intelligence scales and achievement tests, or usual performance as with questionnaires and inventories that asess feelings during the past week, personal attitudes, and vocational interests.
