Abstract

The localisation of infectious diseases has become a challenge for the physicians specialised in nuclear medicine7. Years ago we used Ga-67 for the diagnosis of inflammatory diseases and achieved good results. A major disadvantage of this isotope consists in the fact that colon excretion may be found therefore the interpretation of higher bowel uptake is often problematic. Moreover, the radiation dose is very high4. Since Thakur and other groups have reported the possibility of labeling leucocytes with 111Indium-oxine this method has won a dominating place in imaging inflammatory processes10. The introduction of anti-granulocyte antibodies has offered a new possibility of coping with this diagnostic problem1,5,9. We have used 99mTc labeled antibodies.
