Abstract

Atherosclerosis is a major cause of death and disability in the western world. Epidemiological, clinical and pathological studies provide strong evidence for the relationship between diet and atherosclerotic vascular disease. A general consensus has been reached on dietary errors predisponing to premature atherosclerosis in men in order to avoid the insidious progression of atheroma in arterial districts and particularly in the coronaries.
