Abstract
Science, medicine and social development are progressing hand in hand. Science and medicine or social situation which were believed to be self-contained endogenously regulated areas are now seen to be closely intregrated and cast penetrating influence on one another. Close observations illuminate how social problems slowly transform into medical problems: Following examples indicate the existence of this communication network:
-
Life crisis or social stress diminishes the immune response;
-
Specific mental disturbances are accompanied by immune abnormalities;
-
Some immunological disorders produce psycho-social symptoms;
-
Stressful childhood experiences have immunological consequences.
