Abstract

Electrical characterization of ceramic and polymeric materials can be of both fundamental and diagnostic value, even for materials not used directly in electronic applications. We would like to review some selective DC and AC measurements to illustrate this point. Electrical conduction is of particular interest in certain ceramics, capacitors and insulators being examples. DC conduction and thermoelectric measurements are discussed below specifically for the case of ferroelectric ceramic used in capacitors.
