Abstract
Thin superconducting YBaCuO films were prepared by coevaporation of Y, BaF2 and Cu and subsequent heat treatment in wet oxygen1. The experience collected for this preparation technique will be reported. We will also describe the effect of hydrogen charging on the electrical resistivity, the change of the superconducting transition temperature and the Hall number. We find that the concentration of charge carriers is reduced by hydrogen doping. Extrapolating the initial slope of carrier reduction versus hydrogen concentration yields that approximately 0.8 H-atoms are needed to compensate all carriers.
