Abstract
Immune complexes localize in lymphoid follicles of different lym-phoid organs. It has been shown that immune complex trapping in lymphoid follicles depends on the presence of complement factor C3 (1,2). The complexes are retained in follicular centers for a long time, although they may be replaced gradually by new complexes from the circulation (3).Trapping and retaining of immune complexes by follicular dendritic cells (FDC) may play an important role in the generation of immunological memory, feedback inhibition of the immune response or in both of these processes (4).
