Electrodynamics of Superconducting Y1Ba2Cu3O y

Abstract

The response of superconductors to time-varying electromagnetic fields can yield detailed information on the nature of the superconducting state1. Experiments carried out at frequencies in the rf to mm-wave spectral region directly probe the collective response of the condensed electrons and of the quasiparticles, and in conventional superconductors, have been important in determining the gap, the density of states and confirming the nature of the pairing.
