Abstract

Professional persons must make proper charges for their work. In some states, recommended minimum fee schedules have been established by technical societies to aid practicing surveyors. Although helpful as guides, a standard fee is restrictive when applied generally and under certain circumstances may be attacked as illegal. Furthermore, the factors used in deriving a fee are seldom, if ever, given and not applicable for both large cities and rural areas in the same state.
