Abstract

Students often like to see some connection between abstract topics like “scaling in disorderly growth systems” and problems confronting practical people who live in the real world. For this reason, I shall devote my third and final lecture to describing two somewhat “novel” fractal growth structures, each of which has some indirect relevance to the oil recovery problem.
