Abstract
The sensitivity of the kidney to many compounds is well recognized, and sequences of pathological events have been documented in detail. A model compound to induce nephrotic syndrome in rodents is adriamycin, an anthracyclin antitumour drug widely used in chemotherapy. As described by Bertani et al. (1982), pathological changes such as proteinuria, hyper-coagulability, and hyperlipemia occur with adriamycin use.
