Abstract
Lasers find a wide usage in general industry and engineering, from measurement applications to materials processing. When discussing safety in this context it is useful to refer to the combination of a laser, beam delivery optics, workpiece manipulation equipment and the guarding, fume extraction etc. associated with this integrated system as making up a Laser Processing Machine.
