Small Angle Neutron Scattering by Micellar Non-Ionic Surfactants in Apolar Media

  • Chapter
Reverse Micelles

Part of the book series: Forschung Soziologie

Abstract

The amphiphile aggregation phenomenon in non-polar organic solvents is at present a subject largely open to discussion. Although in many cases1–5 the existence of aggregates is generally admitted, the physico-chemical factors responsible for that aggregation in non-aqueous systems are far from being well identified and understood1,2. And as far as the morphological parameters of the aggregates are concerned, no direct evidence of the true structure has ever been obtaine4,5.
