Abstract

Based on the legal framework for employment, a distinction can be made between two groups of public employees in Denmark: (i) public servants (in Danish tjenestemaend), and (ii) employees employed on the basis of collective wage agreements (in Danish: overenskomstansatte). The pension system differs between these two groups. We first discuss the scheme for public servants and next consider employees under collective wage agreements.
