Abstract
The topic of reviewing concepts and methodologies in management disciplines and inter/trans-disciplinary approaches, such as the various strands of systems methodologies, from multiple perspectives is a recurring theme, see, for examples, Ho and Sculli (1994) on Logistics Management and Ho (1994(b)) on Management Accounting; Ho and Sculli (1993(b)), Ho, Partington and Sculli (1994) on Information Systems Design; and Ho, Sculli (1993(a)) on Operational Research. Other writers that encourage review of management disciplines from various multiple perspectives (and thus endorse pluralism) include Hirschheim (1992) on Information Systems research, and Mears-Young (1993) on Logistics Management. There are also regularly published papers on Accounting based on different perspectives in journals such as Accounting, Organizations and Society (from Pergamon), and Critical Perspectives on Accounting (from Academic Press). What then would a meta-framework that is multi-perspective for reviewing management disciplines look like? How could such a multi-perspective framework be constructed and enhanced? These are the questions addressed here.
