Abstract

Although a screen is and will always be the main interface we use for PCs, sound plays an important part as well. If you sit in a bar or café for any length of time, you hear various notification sounds around you coming from smartphones, laptops, and tablets. Each one informs the owner of the device about something important: a message, an e-mail, a security alert, or perhaps that an update is available for an app.
