Abstract
Understanding processes is a very important part of your programming skill set. If you understand how to communicate with processes, you can factor your design into multiple components that can run simultaneously but still collaborate with one another. Signal handling and process termination is just as important because closing things in an orderly fashion keeps your system running efficiently. Understanding deadlocking and Parent - Child process relationships helps you prevent runaway and zombie processes, which can quickly bring an entire system down.
