Abstract
As the title of this chapter states, it will center on the psychosocial aspects of maintenance hemodialysis research. My introduction will be limited to giving my views, or overviews, of the growth of research, of the difficulties encountered in these studies, and of the various objectives or directions these investigations have taken.
