Abstract

There is clinical evidence which suggests that E. coli might be involved in the formation of phosphate stones including magnesiumammonium-phosphate (map) stones. The aim of this study was to evaluate if incubation of urine with E. coli prior to urease inoculation influences urease-induced precipitation of phosphate and magnesium.
