Abstract
The United States military industrial complex has many opportunities for microbattery development and applications. Funds for research are frequently available for a new technology, especially if it solves a problem which cannot be solved practically by any other means. It is also true that many times the military will pay a high price for a relatively small amount of product during development. These factors can assist the progress of a new product by enabling it to generate a profit early during its product life.
