Fundamental Aspects of Inert Gases in Solids

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((NSSB,volume 279))

Abstract

Tritides can be a useful tool for studying the fundamental properties of helium in metals and offer certain advantages over ion implantation methods. In this paper, recent studies on a number of different tritides are described which have increased our understanding of helium mobility, bubble nucleation, bubble growth and helium densities in bubbles.
