Hormone Replacement Therapy

Part of the book series: Contemporary Endocrinology ((COE,volume 13))

Abstract

Diabetes insipidus (DI) is a syndrome characterized by the excretion of abnormally large volumes of dilute urine. The polyuria causes symptoms of urinary frequency and nocturia and sometimes, incontinence and enuresis. It is also associated with thirst and/or a commensurate increase in fluid intake (polydipsia).
