Gynaecomastia

Abstract

Gynaecomastia is the abnormal breast development in the male, with increase in ductal tissue and stroma. Recognition Can present at any age: neonatal, pubertal or senile gynaecomastia (See history below). Recognised by excess of breast tissue +/− excess skin, usually predominately subareolar in location (Fig. 14.1).
