Abstract
Findings from a recent review suggest that adherence interventions using a team approach with nonphysician healthcare professionals are effective in improving cardiovascular medication [152]. This is particularly important considering the high cost of physician time as compared to some other healthcare professionals. There is also a growing body of literature supporting a team approach, whether nurse/physician [153] or pharmacist/physician [153, 154], to improve medication adherence.
