Abstract

In the paper are presented investigation results concerning effect of heat treatment parameters (temperature, duration of solutioning and ageing treatment) on obtained values of mechanical properties (Rm, HB10/1000/30) of a forging used as component of a fixture to aerial electrical supply lines, produced from EN AW-6082 alloy (according to PN-EN 373-3:2014-02). Temperatures of solutioning (520–540 ℃) and ageing (160–180 ℃) operations were selected on the base of the ATD diagrams, while maximal time of the solutioning was limited to 60 min. Performed heat treatment has enabled obtainment of a significant increase in tensile strength Rm, hardness HB10/1000/30 with acceptable reduction of elongation A5. Moreover, it has been developed a dependencies in form of the second degree polynomial, enabling forecast of the mechanical properties, and 3D diagrams illustrating tendency of their changes in complete range of the investigations.
