Abstract

Female urethral stricture disease is often treated with traumatic dilation that leads to a high recurrence rate. There is increasing evidence that, in lieu of repeated dilations, formal urethroplasty should be pursued early in the management of female urethral stricture disease, as it provides a durable and cost-effective cure. This chapter provides an update on the various reported techniques for female urethroplasty that are reported in the surgical literature.
