Abstract

Neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunctions (NLUTDs) in suprapontine lesions (SPL) turn out to be of great interest due to the vastness of the pathologies that may be the cause especially in elderly, although epidemiological studies fail to provide an exact picture of the state of the art.

Symptoms of the filling phase occur more frequently while voiding symptoms are more sporadic and often overlap with the acute phases of the disease.

The commonest urodynamic pattern observed in SPL is the presence of neurogenic detrusor overactivity (NDO) generally with a coordinated external sphincter function during the voiding phase.
