Abstract

Biosensors based on pH have several applications such as blood and environment monitoring and biological and chemical analyses, in addition to clinical detection. This chapter focuses on the literature review regarding the deposition and fabrication of pH sensor synthesized by various techniques and theoretical background. Many researchers have been investigated different pH-sensitive polymers and chemical solutions and found a few measurements to observe the pH performance. The recent chapter focuses on a literature review of the pH-sensitive materials and investigates detection methods by using various sensors, which includes their applications and sensitivity mechanism. These analysis concludes a number of significant properties of the pH-sensitive material and their applications which dictates the characteristics of the pH sensor. In addition, the pH sensing theory and measurement processes are presented in this chapter.
