Abstract
Power-control hydraulics is an important technology used in many industries, but it can be problematic due to its impact on the environment. Using water instead of mineral hydraulic oil is one of the ways to protect our environment. However, there is a lack of components suitable for water hydraulics.
The aim of this work was to design and test a two-stage pressure-relief valve, appropriate for use in a water-hydraulics system. The valve was designed for pressures up to 40 MPa and for flow rates up to 50 L/min. In the design process we used both analytical and numerical approaches. One of the important goals was for the valve to beas simple as possible to manufacture. The prototype of the valve was made and the basic measurements were taken. Based on the first results obtained from the experiments, the valve design was modified in the direction of a simpler valve-manufacturing process with higher quality.
