Abstract

This article has been written in appreciation of the way the Romanian school and that of the Republic of Moldova value the time and its management. Management plays a key role in envisioning, in determining the mission and values in the knowledge production and in the process of increasing the economic, social and ecological efficiency of the organization.

After decades of didactic, scientific, publishing and managerial activity, the authors felt the need for a work in which to synthesize the accumulated knowledge and to provide the readers with an overview of the concerns of using time wisely and with results.

Our goal was to write the paper as well as the present article which would combine a certain originality with an analysis of the problems of fundamental interest regarding the use of time. Furthermore, we focus on the following major themes: the culture behind the coordinates of time, the interest in time in philosophy, the time as a strategic resource, the psychology of time management, and the psychology of the organisation of time in the human activity.

The philosophical-methodological foundation of the research is constituted by the systemic, complex and transdisciplinary approach to the concept of time, as well as the methods of the analysis and the synthesis, the induction and the deduction, the logical and historiographic analysis of the specialised literature in the field. Moreover, the theoretical background is built on the fundamental works in the field, belonging to nationally and internationally renowned personalities.
