Abstract

The aim of this chapter is to prove a number of very general nonexistence results for Yamabe-type inequalities of the form

$$ \Delta u + a(x)u-b(x)u^{\sigma} \geq 0 $$

on complete, noncompact, Riemannian manifolds.
