The Ge-Sb-Bi Ternary Phase Diagram

  • Chapter
Thermal Analysis

Abstract

The ternary phase diagram Ge-Sb-Bi has been calculated based on the model of regular associated solutions. In the calcula. tion on the ternary T-x diagram five parameters are needed: the three interaction parameters α1 2, α2 3 and α1 3 in the liquid, and the interaction parameter, Ω, in the solid, derived from the binary phase diagrams, and the dimer dissociation constant, K, for the Bi. Good agreement with experimental da ta is obtained for the binary and ternary systems.
