Abstract
Protein function is achieved through interaction of a protein with its target(s). Usually these targets are other proteins: receptors, activators, inhibitors or antibodies. Should these interactions be based on resonant recognition between interacting proteins, as is proposed with the RRM, then we can expect proteins and their targets to have a common characteristic frequency. This is discussed here, and a number of examples are presented. Phases at recognition frequency are also analysed.
