Abstract

The progression of the outlaw label and its application to a minute population of motorcycle riders known as one percenters (1 %ers) is ultimately a narrative of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club. One charismatic biker leader, Ralph “Sonny” Barger is credited with consolidating the California Hells Angels chapters into the largest and most crime ridden Outlaw Motorcycle Gang in the world.
