Abstract

This chapter introduces the motivations for the measurement described in this thesis. After a brief description of the general theoretical framework we focus on \(C\!P\) violation in \({B_{s}^{0}}-{\bar{B}^0_s}\) mixing through \(B^0_s\rightarrow J/\psi \phi \) decays as probe for non-standard model physics. An overview of the measurement, and a summary of the current experimental status are also presented.
