Abstract

Despite all attention given to the subject in many papers and conferences, the overall number of lesions of biliary structures continues to raise; the most important is, obviously, direct lesion to the common bile duct.

Although reasonably simple measures can be taken to prevent these lesions, most often, they are not followed or surgeons are not aware of it. Besides these lesions can occur in any surgery, to any surgeon.

In this chapter, these simple measures are enumerated, and some reasoning is done around it, explaining why lesions can happen and explaining how it can be prevented.
