Abstract

The two-phase alloys types discussed in this chapter include eutectics, peritectics, and monotectics. Some of the most important casting alloys in terms of tonnage as well as applications, such as cast iron and aluminum–silicon alloys, are essentially eutectic two-phase alloys.
