Abstract
At the start of the thesis a series of objectives were laid out to achieve the aim of exploring the potential of using thermographic methods to develop a reliable method of identifying kissing defects in adhesive bonds. The objectives and how they have been achieved are detailed in the current chapter. By fulfilling these objectives pulse phase thermography has been shown to have strong potential as a technology that could be implemented as a practical and portable device for non-destructive evaluation of adhesive bonds in a variety of applications.
