Abstract
The chapter proposes mathematical tools for efficient utilization of innovation and investment in organizations operating within knowledge-intensive industries. The authors come up with the algorithm that can be used to assess the efficiency of projects and programs and employ this algorithm to elaborate the methodology for assessing the efficiency and determining priority innovation projects within knowledge-intensive industries in view of the development of the national system of strategic planning. The chapter proposes the guidelines that can be used to select higher-priority innovation projects and assess the corresponding financing issues in view of the mathematical evaluation of the technical level of production and flexibility of the firm’s technological structure. The authors develop a multicriteria approach that can be applied to select efficient innovation projects and present the economic–mathematical model for the selection of innovative technologies facilitating competitive performance of knowledge-intensive industries. The authors also propose a technique for the assessment of technical and economic effect proceeding from the implementation of innovative infocomm technologies in the course of creating organizational management systems in order to boost their technological and economic efficiency.
