Abstract
Scrotal pain is a common chief complaint to a urologist’s office. The differential diagnosis for scrotal pain is broad and the correct diagnosis is sometimes difficult. In this chapter, a summary of the pertinent anatomy and physiology of the scrotum is provided to help the reader better understand the pathophysiology of scrotal pain. We also provide a list of common chronic and acute causes of scrotal pain and tips on how to diagnose them based on the history, physical, and image findings. It is our hope that this chapter will serve as a guide to accurate diagnosis and treatment of scrotal pain.
