Abstract

Dynamic patient treatment (PT) processes are usually human-centric and often unique. Therefore, implemented PT processes into information system (IS) should be capable to adopt dynamically according to the real PT process changes at process instance runtime. Such processes are known as dynamic business processes (DBP). The problem of DBP modelling, simulation and execution has been actively investigated over the last few years, but existing approaches to DBP modelling, simulation and execution have been incomplete, i.e. they lack theory and/or a case study or both. Moreover, a question of implementation of the DBP modelling, execution and simulation is left without an answer. This paper presents a DBP modelling and simulation approach, which is realised in Hospital Santariskiu Klinikos and a PT process case study is conducted. The results obtained shows that the proposed approach and its implementation are suitable for DBP modelling and simulation in HIS (Health Information System).
