Retinopathy of Prematurity

Abstract

Laser retinal photocoagulation became the main therapeutic option for vision-threatening ROP after it replaced cryotherapy, becoming the standard of care to which all new treatment options should be compared. Although there is a learning curve and it requires appropriate equipment, excellent results can be achieved in the majority of cases with a small proportion of complications.
