Abstract

For the last time nanogold became an object of systematical research in many laboratories of the world. This metallic form is studied by chemists, physicists, geologists, biologists, technologists and some other specialists. In this introduction there is the information on the initial works dealing with geological occurrences of nanogold. The theoretical and practical meaning of nanogold is supported by numerous examples of its discovering in the largest gold deposits. Many deposits and ore bodies with nanogold in Russia and abroad (Canada, Kazakhstan) are used by the author as the objects of study. A short generalization of the previous works fulfilled in Perm State University on deposits with fine gold particles is given. The modern methods of research applied to the objects with nanogold include specific field sampling and high-resolution electron microscopy with microprobe analysis under laboratory conditions.
