Abstract
Most patients do well after cholecystectomy for symptomatic gallbladder disease. Early postoperative complications are important to recognise (Table 15.1) and are discussed in Chaps. 16, 22 and 23. The main focus of this chapter is the assessment of the patient who returns to the surgeon with new or persistent symptoms, a month or later following cholecystectomy.
