Abstract

In cases where a tumour of the lung is found to have invaded the chest wall, but the invasion is limited, it is possible to resect a portion of the chest wall together with the tumour. Although this is clearly a more advanced stage of disease than that confined within the lung, good 5-year survival rates can be expected.
