Abstract
The role of non-invasive imaging for trans-catheter implant (TAVI) has increasingly been in procedure planning rather than peri-procedural imaging. With maturation of TAVI, there is movement to avoid general anaesthesia during the procedure, and rely mostly on fluoroscopy or a combination of trans-thoracic Echocardiography (TTE) and fluoroscopy. Accordingly, the emphasis is on optimal procedural planning to prevent peri-valvular leak (PVL) and complications such as annular rupture, and to establish the options for procedural access by evaluation of the vasculature. Thus, the following section will describe the role of imaging for TAVI planning followed by key steps for intra-procedural imaging.
