Abstract
A 56-year-old man presented with a Zone I-II open globe injury with uveal prolapse of the left eye after he was struck with metal bearing he was prying from the spindle of a boat trailer. The patient underwent surgical repair with repositioning of uveal tissue using an intraocular sweeping technique and reapproximation of the corneal limbus with interrupted nylon sutures. Post-operatively, vitreous hemorrhage resolved spontaneously without any vitreoretinal complications or interventions. Mydriasis , secondary to an iris sphincter tear and iridodialysis , caused symptomatic glare in the affected eye that was addressed with a tinted contact lens.
