Succession Planning

Abstract

In today’s society, numerous career fields are battling with supply versus demand in reference to the workforce. The world’s best and brightest now view the USA as a decreasingly attractive place to live and work (Wadhwa, 2012). Leaders in general are currently in positions to internalize and externalize the business rules of an organization which organically derives from their professional and educational experiences. However, these rules may or may not transfer to new leaders who descend from Generation X, millennials, and beyond. For succession to be successful, this transferral must happen and must incorporate effectiveness processes, ensuring that it occurs with formality in accordance with the needs of the organization.
