Abstract
Raya Bodnarchuk is a sculptor whose work is included in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Ms. Bodnarchuk is a mesothelioma survivor who has been an active member of the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation and patient support networks. Ms. Bodnarchuk’s journey is remarkable and inspiring. This chapter will give readers the opportunity to view mesothelioma through the eyes of a patient, a warrior, and truly inspiring person.
A practicing artist, specifically a sculptor, I was a fine art professor at the Corcoran College of Art and Design. I am now Professor Emeritus of Fine Art at the George Washington University.
